Life has a way of whispering to us, guiding us toward our true north—that sense of purpose, direction, and alignment that calls to our soul. Often, it starts as a quiet nudge, an intuitive pull that grows stronger the more we tune in and trust it. Following your true north isn’t always easy, but it is always worth it. It requires courage, faith, and inspired action, yet the rewards are transformative: a life that feels expansive, authentic, and deeply fulfilling.
Jana and I have been reflecting on this recently as we prepare to embark on a new chapter of our lives. Knoxville has been a place of incredible growth, beauty, and connection for us. It’s where we deepened our roots in the community, explored our passions, and experienced profound personal and professional expansion. And now, we feel the call to move forward, following our true north to South Carolina this spring. This decision didn’t come lightly, but it came clearly, as an undeniable sense of knowing that it was time to step into what was next. We are beyond excited about the opportunities, connections, and experiences that await us there.
As we prepare for this transition, we’ve been reminded of how important it is to listen to the voice within. It’s not always logical. Sometimes, it’s even a little scary. But deep down, your true north knows the way—it’s your internal compass, pointing you toward what’s most aligned for you.
If you’re feeling the call to explore your true north, here are a few steps you can take:
- Get Quiet and Listen – Your inner guidance speaks most clearly in moments of stillness. Carve out time each day for meditation, journaling, or simply sitting in silence. Ask yourself, “What do I feel called toward? What excites me or lights me up?” Allow yourself to listen without judgment.
- Trust Your Intuition – When a direction feels right, even if you can’t fully explain it, trust that feeling. Your intuition often knows what your logical mind can’t yet understand. Practice tuning in to that inner knowing and acting on it.
- Take Inspired Action – Following your true north isn’t just about dreaming; it’s about doing. Once you’ve identified a direction, take small, aligned steps toward it. Whether it’s exploring a new opportunity, having a heartfelt conversation, or letting go of something that no longer serves you, inspired action keeps the momentum flowing.
- Embrace the Unknown – Stepping into the new often means leaving the familiar behind. It’s natural to feel a mix of excitement and fear. Trust that the unknown holds growth, possibility, and opportunities beyond what you can imagine. Lean into it with an open heart.
We’re so grateful for the time we’ve had in Knoxville and for everything it’s taught us. As we look ahead to our next adventure in South Carolina, we carry those lessons and memories with us, knowing they’ve prepared us for what’s to come. Our hope is that you, too, feel inspired to follow your true north—to listen to your inner call and take the steps that lead you toward a life that feels true to you.
