This month’s topic from HIW really spoke to me.
I’ve been on my healing journey for quite some time, 30 years or more! My awakening occurred as the result of a serious nervous breakdown around 1990, followed by a number of dips back into major depression over the following 5-8 years, and all the many and varied therapy situations you might imagine since then. However, the last 10 years have been focused heavily on my physical ancestors in this incarnation, and my galactic heritage in others. This latter path has often been more painful, slow as molasses, and grief ridden. Sometimes halting or even at a standstill, sometimes galloping ahead with progress, and with many joyful times and momentous ah-ha insights along the way. After saying all that, my current perspective is, “TOTALLY WORTH IT!”

A final thought: I would offer you some unsolicited advice! Try to remember to ask for help. This is one of my biggest mistakes, and one that I continue to make! Yes, even with all my years of therapy, fantastic friends, my Al-Anon program and sponsor, etc. I still struggle to ask for help when the cloud descends. Your healing journey may not be a 30-year slog (I Hope 🙏), it may be fast, it may be simple, it might just be a 3-day revelatory experience. However it comes to you though, KNOW that there are people out here willing to sit on the couch with a cuppa, and a box of tissues if needed.
